A well-established national law firm with multiple offices across the U.S. is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support its general liability / insurance defense practice. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, a collaborative team environment, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated litigation matters with attorneys across several offices.
This role is ideal for a paralegal who is comfortable managing files in a fast-paced defense practice and enjoys taking ownership of cases from initial intake through trial preparation.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of civil litigation, with a focus on general liability and insurance defense matters
- Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery, and correspondence
- Manage document production, review, and organization
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and expert witnesses
- Prepare medical records summaries and chronologies
- Maintain case calendars and track deadlines
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness materials
- E-file in state and federal courts
- Communicate with clients, carriers, experts, and opposing counsel
Qualifications
- 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense, general liability, or civil litigation
- Experience working in a law firm environment required
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and deadlines
- Experience with document management and e-filing systems
- Ability to manage multiple cases and work independently
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Trial preparation experience preferred
